I’ve been cutting myself since I was five and I can’t remember anyone ever crying for me, or thinking I was worth enough to feel my pain. I still feel so sad to have made you cry and I’m sorry, yet at the same time, I feel closer to you.

Something changed during that session. I know you care a lot, sometimes I just don’t understand why. We both know that my feelings toward you are very strong; it just took me aback to see how much I seem to matter to you. I think I’ll probably always be waiting for you to figure out how to rescue me.

Could you explain to me, Tom, what happened during that session? Why did I cut in front of you and how could I ever want to hurt you? I feel so guilty now for upsetting you and I’m sorry that I did something so selfish and hurtful.
